About the brand

CDG is a Japanese fashion label founded by and
headed by Rei Kawakubo. The label was established as a company Comme des Garçons Co. Ltd in 1973.

History

The company has over the years recurrently
associated itself with the arts and cultural
projects internationally.

1997: Fashion X Choreography

The 1997 spring-summer collection, often
referred to the "lumps and bumps" collection,
which contained fabric in bulk and balls on the
garments. This led to a collaboration between Rei Kawakubo and New York-based choreographer Merce Cunningham called "Scenario".

Design Concept

Taking inspiration from the significant expression "When body meets dress, dress meets body", my
concept for CDG Boutique Hotel is "When body meets space, space meets body".

In this case, space become transformable and interactive with body.
